Prior to Hudson, Erica Bougard, a 2011 graduate of Byhalia High School, held the record with a mark of 18-2.5, a record which stood for over 10 years. In addition to breaking the long jump record, Hudson also placed runner-up in the High Jump soaring to a height of 5-05.75.

RANKINGS: Mississippi High School Girls Indoor Long Jump All-time List

In the 2022 Outdoor Track and Field season, Hudson was undefeated in both the high jump and long jump, and she has totaled four MHSAA 4A State Titles to her name.

RESULTS: 2022 MHSAA 4A Track and Field Championships

She has an outdoor PR of 18-8.5, which she has now matched, and she holds a high jump PR of 5-8 from the 2022 Mississippi Meet of Champions.

With only two meets under her belt this indoor season, Heidi Hudson has equaled her outdoor PRs and proven she is ready to do nothing short of dominate. The sky is the limit for her, and with her continuation of fantastic form, more Miss. state records are on the precipice of collapse.
