The Rundown: 

The overwhelming favorites to take the 2022 Early Bird team title is the MAIS 6A powerhouse out of Hattiesburg, Miss., Presbyterian Christian School. 

Fresh off of their 2021 MAIS 6A state title, PCS is losing their top two but bringing back the rest of their top seven. 

They have well and away the best No. 2-5 runners in the field, as well as a solid low stick in Brody Creel. 

Here is our pick: PCS takes the easy win by at least 40 points. Columbia Academy in second since they have the better No. 5 and 6 over Lamar Christian and Simpson Academy. PCS will have a much better split than Lamar Christian's victory from last year, and could even give their winning average time of 12:28 a scare.
