Brayden Burroughs, Tremont High came out of nowhere to take over the season lead in the MHSAA Class 1A boys. The senior has had a good season so far setting a personal record three-times including the race at Booneville. The time at Booneville dropped his previous personal record of 18:28 at Blue Mountain by over a minute.

He has to face a tough pair of brothers at State this Saturday. Causey Simmons and Bounds Simmons, Tupelo Christian are seniors with a lot of race experience and times that are not far behind Brayden. Causey beat Brayden head to head at TCPS this season.
