Meets On Tap For The Week Here In Mississippi

It is going to be a busy week especially Saturday. Of course, this being Mississippi weather could be a factor. With hurricane Sally coming ashore late tonight or Tuesday morning rain is going to be a problem.

Presbyterian Christian starts the week today with over 600 athletes representing 28 schools. I will be there covering with photos and hopefully some good video. My video skills have screwed up the last two meets with getting some race video.

The Benton Academy meet could be directly affected by the rain.

The rest of the meets on Saturday will have to deal with muddy conditions which will have an impact on the times.

The biggest meet of the week is the Saltillo Invitational. There are 50 schools that currently entered more than 1200 athletes. Registration is still open so more teams could decide to come to this meet. They have an interesting format the large 4A-6A schools will run in the morning and the smaller school 1A-3A will start running at 4:00 p.m. in the evening. I cannot wait to see the results from this meet. MileSplit will have a photographer there and I hope she can cover the whole day.

I plan to be back at Northwest Rankin for second meet on the new course. With all the rain predicted it could be a mudding good time.
