Is there an event we need to add to track & field? What are your ideas coaches?
Personally I think the javelin should be the next event added. The blunt tips lessens the chance of injury so that can help. It will require athletes and coaches to pay attention to what is going on around them. If the event is held in the stadium athletes should not be on the infield plus the practice of wearing ear buds to listen to music or phones will have to be banned so that warnings can be heard. Javelins cost less that pole vault poles and pits so it will be a minor expense for small schools.
