All The MAIS XC 5K Runners By Grade

Boys

Seniors`

Jacob Williams, Presbyterian Christian, 16:55.22 Sep 23, MRA Cross Country Invitational - Jacob set his personal record in this race but should run faster as the season closes down. He ran on Monday at the Simpson Academy Invitational and ran 17:49 over that hilly course in the heat.

Juniors

Chase Rose, Kirk Academy, 16:40.58, Sept 23, MRA Cross Country Invitational - Chase is an up and coming junior that could be a top runner by the end of the season. He is scheduled to run Saturday at MC Watson.

Ryan Skates, Cathedral Unit, 16:44.33, Sep 14, Olan Welch Invitational - The second of two great juniors in the MAIS. He can his best race ever at Olan Welch but he will have to improve if he hopes to beat Chase.

Sophomores 

Will Triplett, Madison Ridgeland, 18:15.88, Sep 23, MRA Cross Country Invitational - Will is a talented runner and could be sub 17 minutes by his senior season. He is scheduled to run a the MC Watson meet on Saturday.

Freshmen

Barrett Burget, Cathedral Unit, 19:00.58, Sep 14, Olan Welch Invitational - Barrett has race well this season and should be able to run under 19 minutes by State. His team runs again next week at their home meet the Cathedral Invitational.

8th Grade

Daniel Vargas, Delta Streets, 18:49.88, Sep 23, MRA Cross Country Invitational - Daniel is the number three ranked 8th grader in the state at this time and is ranked 13th overall in the MAIS. This young man has a future ahead in cross country if he trains for it and races against tough competition. I am not sure when he will race next.

7th Grade

Dallas Stricker, Heritage Christian, 19:05.57, Sep 30, Simpson Academy Invitational - Dallas managed to set his personal record on one of the harder courses in the state in the heat. This young man could be a top runner in the whole state all leagues by the time he is a senior. He is scheduled to compete at the MC Watson Ford meet Saturday and with the competition there should have no problems breaking his PR.

Girls


Seniors 

Savannah McIntosh, Madison Ridgeland, 21:01.70, Sep 30, Frank Horton - Savannah ran her PR at 5K as an eight grader but still has the potential to run fast times. Look for her to be a force at State.

Lydia Snopek, Madison Ridgeland, 20:36.45, Sep 30 Frank Horton - Lydia transferred from Madison Central to Madison Ridgeland and is runnning number one for her team

Julia Stradinger, Jackson Preparatory, 19:48.98, Sep 30 Frank Horton  - Julia is just shy of her personal record of 19:40 this season but could really step it up at the Cathedral Invitational.

Carson Carter, Simpson Academy, 20:38.90, Sep 21, 48th Annual Wildcat Invitational - Carson has improved her time this season and looks like she could have a great time at State this year.

8th Grade

Ali Alden Benton, Madison Ridgeland, 21:20.58, Sep 30, Frank Horton - Ali Alden has been racing consistently this season and set her personal record at Frank Horton. With a little tweaking she has a good chance to break 21 minutes this season.

Charlee Brees Franks, Columbia Academy, 22:21.78, MRA Cross Country Invitational - Charlee has been a pleasant surprise this season for her coach. She has a chance to break 22 minutes and with the right race conditions could break 21.
