The Heat and Early Season: Ole Brook Invite

Boys

What a difference time makes.  By the time the boys race started the sun slipped behind the clouds and the temperature dropped at least five degrees. Between the difference in temps and a lot of miles this summer Brookhaven had the athletes.

Jacob Britt won the race as predicted but his 16:35 was great. Grayson Childress was close behind by only seven seconds.

Grayson has basically laid down a challenge to Grayson Edwards, Northwest Rankin to make the "Tale of Two Graysons" a factor again this season.

Team Scores

Brookhaven almost followed the predicted race score to a T. But the times run was awesome. Three guys under 17 minutes. The number four Jake Thompson in 17:36 and Trey Knott just missing sub 20 at 19:05 it gave them the boost to win by an almost perfect score of 16.

Just for grins their 6th place runner X'Zavion Stewart a freshman ran 19:07 to push Trey. Watch out Class 5A Brookhaven had laid down the challenge.
