Mississippi XC Week One Meet Preview

First week of cross country and we will have representatives at some of the meets.

I will be at the Ole Brook Invitational taking pictures and video. Plus I will do some interviews with some of the runners. There are fifteen teams registered with two of those have zero athletes. A total of 307 athletes so not bad for a Thursday afternoon meet. Several top athletes are entered with Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach leading the list. Of course Brookhaven will have their running hordes there with a total of 56 athletes entered. Germantown, Mississippi is entering 70 total athletes.

Kelly Hall will be at the Myrtle meet taking pictures while I might be there to take video and do some pictures. Two classes at the meet 1-3A and 4-6A. There is a team from Tennessee entered along with 27 Mississippi teams. Eight teams have yet entered any athletes. The only problem with the small school/large school division is that sometimes the top athletes in the meet do not run against each other. Still with 645 athletes this will be a great meet. Brock Kelly, Tupelo Christian will lead the 1-3A boys event. While Jackson Williams, Arlington, Tn will lead the big school race. In the girls races Mia Card, Baldwyn leads the entries in the small school division while Ann-Marie Braese, Arlington, Tn leads the big school division.

Madison XC Clash has three teams entered so far. Top male athlete is David Ramsey, Madison Central while the top female athlete is Emily Ireland, Saint Andrew's.

Pepsi XC Challenge has zero Mississippi teams or athletes entered.

South Panola XC Invitational is in its first year of competition and has 6 teams with 125 entries. Not bad for a first year effort. Two teams have not entered any athletes so far.  Adam Gomez, Desoto Central leads the male entries while Tyler Hamby, South Panola leads the girl entries.
