Rain Does Cancel Cross Country

Choctaw Trails after thousands of feet hit in seven days

When you have one of the best cross country courses in the Southeast sometimes you have to protect it. The JPS meet today at Choctaw Trails has be cancelled in part due to the serious rain we have had the last couple of days with more in the forecast. A couple of hundred feet pounding on the soggy course would have turned parts of it into mud puddles and could have caused injuries. While I hate to see my sport put off I totally agree with the reason. Choctaw Trails will see many high school and college runners this year and we need to keep it in the best shape we can. So the JPS runners will have to wait for another day before hitting the trails.
