March 8th and 9th were two season leading races. On Thursday Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach took over the season lead in the 1600 meters with a solo 5:23.76 at the Bearcat Track and Field Classic.
Then Friday Lina May, Vancleave ran 5:21.42 at the East Mississippi Showdown to take the lead from Brooklyn.
Both these races were solo efforts with the ladies taking the lead from the start and no one else to help with the pace. What a pair of races from two fine young ladies. I look forward to the rest of this year and their races.
