Loyola Cross Country at MC Invitational


Clinton, Miss.- Lauren Fereday led the Wolfpack with a 9th place finish in the women’s 6K and Chris Kelliher was tops for the men placing 16th in the men’s 8K as Loyola cross country teams competed in the college division of the Mississippi College Watson Ford Invitational on Saturday morning.



Kelliher, who was the top Loyola competitor for the third consecutive meet, finished the course in a time of 30:25.14 and was trailed by Robert Hayden, who finished 22nd with a time of 33:07.64. Justin Fecke and Thomas Palacio finished 27th and 28th respectively as Fecke was 27th with a time of 35:11.90. Palacio ran a 37:29.49. The Wolfpack men did not have a team score.



Fereday was the top women’s competitor for the second consecutive race. She completed the meet in a time of 27:06.20 which was good for 9th place. Rachel Leonard was the next runner in Maroon and Gold to cross the line. She finished with a time of 28:08.94 for 14th place. Other runners included Joilynn Hollies 30:06.36 (21st), Olivia Taylor 30:15.47 (23rd), Annelise Rickert 30:32.99 (24th), Kristen Francis 31:24.10 (26th), and Kayla Cox 33:27.17 (27th).



The Wolfpack women posted a team score of 78 points for 4th place.
