2018 6A South State Championships
Site: Gulfport High School Track
Date & Times: Saturday April 28, 2018
Meet Entry Process: Complete the MHSAA Team Roster Form (attachment with this email) for entire team and bring to the meet with your entry fee. $10.00 per athlete. Make checks payable to Gulfport High School Athletic Department.
Meet Admission: $7.00
Pole Vault and Relay Entry Confirmation Forms are included in this email. Please turn in the pole vault sheets to the pole vault judge and the relay confirmation sheet to the clerk of the course.
MHSAA SOUTH STATE MEET COACHES INFORMATION SHEET
An athlete may participate in a maximum of four (4) events including relays.
Entry Fee: $10.00 per athlete
Top Four participants in each event will qualify for the State Track Meet.
Scoring: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 The No False Start Rule will be in effect.
Athletes must compete in a school issued uniform.
All competitors will be given six (6) throws or jumps in the following events: Shot, Discus, Long Jump, and Triple Jump.
Athletes will need to weigh in their throwing implements at the clerk of the course by 10:45.
Athletes are to warm-up outside the infield fences, NO WARM UP WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE INFIELD. Coaches will be allowed by the field event areas during the field events (coaches boxes will be marked) When the running starts no coaches or athletes are allowed on the field.
Athletes will check in with the clerk of the course located in the southeast corner of the field south of the spectator stands. Athletes are asked to exit the track thru the north gate by the team area.
Spikes: 1/8" or 3/16" or 1/4" ONLY. High jump shoe rear spikes for jumping foot only may have a maximum length of 1/4".
Teams can put tents in the team area located north of the track. Please leave the stands open for fans.
Pole Vault Starting Heights: 6" below lowest qualifying height (5' 6" minimum)
High Jump Starting Heights: 2" below lowest qualifying height

Parking: Parking for busses is located on the black top along the fence on the West side of the track, on Victory St. in the grass by the blue fence, and along Loposser Ave. in the grass by the track parking lot. Please do not part in the parking lot by the track those spaces are left for spectators.
