Foxworth clears 16’0.25 inches at the Last Chance Indoor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – St. Patrick's (Miss.) Richard Foxworth set a Crossplex facility record with a 16 feet, ¼ inch jump at the Last Chance indoor meet Saturday.

Foxworth attempted 16 feet, 5 inches three times just missing on his last attempt.  Foxworth's winning vault ranks him fourth in the national, according to Milesplit national rankings.

Foxworth told MSTrackXC.com webmaster James Mathews that his Coach has decided to put off further indoor competitions so that they can concentrate on a full month of pure conditioning before starting the outdoor season, after being asked about going higher this indoor season.

Foxworth told MSTrackXC.com his goal for outdoor includes competing at a number of major meets while also helping his team with the MHSAA Championship series. The series includes Division, Region, SouthState, and State competitions. Foxworth said he wants to clear at least 17 feet, 2 inches this coming outdoor season, which would be a Miss. high school best. Foxworth says one of his goals is to go over 17 feet at the State Championships in May, which would be a new meet record.

The senior vaulter for the Irish has a 3.30 grade-point-average and a 23 on the ACT test. Foxworth says he will announce his college choice Wednesday with Miss. State, Auburn or Alabama.

MSTrackXC.com will provide coverage from his signing shortly after the event.
