How did you get involved in the sport? my brothers ran and I have always looked up to them I have always wondered if I could ever beat their times I am on my way to achieve that goal
What is your favorite race and why? the 1600m at Ole Miss
Do you have a specific motivation? my parents and my family
What has been your biggest challenge in the sport? getting over my nerves
What do you hope to achieve in the future? I hope to go to a big college
What do you hope to achieve the rest of the season and at State? I hope to get faster and improve my times
Walk us through a race/event for you (from pre race until post race). when I first get up that morning I make sure everything is packed. Even my jar of peanut butter. I always eat a few spoonfuls before I race and drink some water. After is race I sit in the shade to cool off and drink a couple of sips of mt dew
What goes through your mind? I think about doing good and making my school proud
Do you play other sports? How does track help you with other sports and vice versa? I run track and cross country I also play soccer and tennis. I think the running helps keep me in shape for each of these sports because it is a lot of moving in them.
How and when did you start training for track and field this season? I am constantly busy I go from one sport to the next so I started running when track season started up.
What do you enjoy the most about your team? we are a family. Everyone encourages each other.
What team goals does your team have? to keep improving and to make it to State
What do you feel you have learned from your coaches, teammates and the sport? to always push yourself to do better and to be there for your teammates
What would like to see happen in the future in the sport? for the Clarkdale track team to get bigger.
If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why? I want to be in the olympics and be able to help kids with disabilities that never got the chance to be in a sport and help them reach their goal and to gain faith in the sport that they love.
