The Streak Is Over. Green Hope Gets The Southeast's First Ever NXN At-Large Bid!

Earlier today Green Hope boys suffered heartbreak at NXN Southeast.  Just 7 points behind Bolles HS to take 3rd in the regional where the top 2 advance to nationals.  Green Hope had beaten Bolles twice this year at Great American and Manhattan by wide margins.  Bolles truly ran an amazing race on the day it mattered.  Green Hope was still the first team with 5 boys through over Bolles and US#2 Loudoun Valley.

There still was a chance.  It wasn't over yet.  Green Hope could earn one of four NXN at-large bids.  These are decided by a committee amongst all 8 NXN Regionals meets and the CIF State Meet where the meet merge decides the the two team qualifiers from all of California.

In NXN's history no teams had advanced out the Southeast region with an at-large bid after some very strong cases in the past, but we won't get into that.

Green Hope and Blacksburg (VA) were granted at-large bids at NXN Southeast! The Falcons will be racing again next week at NXN!  Blacksburg getting an at-large means Calli Parlier (Apex) will also be heading to NXN after being the 6th individual.  With an at-large bid to Blacksburg it means former individual advancer Kaitlynn Wolfe is not apart of the team and Parlier will now rep the Southeast!

What an end to a historical day in NC XC!  Green Hope will join Cardinal Gibbons girls in Portland next week at NXN!   First time the states ever seen two teams at the meet.
