Interview with Asia Poe, Madison Central

MSMileSplit: Asia  you are a Junior at Madison Central this year so how is your season going?

Asia: It is coming along though not quite like I would like it to be.

MSMileSplit: Is it your hurldles that are not up to your standards.

Asia: We only have had one real meet and the are not where I would like those races to be.

MSMileSplit: I noticed that you lead Class 6A in the long jump and triple jump. Is the long jump going to be a main event for you?

Asia: No not really we just decided to give it a try this season. But I am happy with the results in both events. If I get a chance I would like to hit 19 feet in the long jump this season.

MSMileSplit: Are you involved in any other sports at Madison Central?

Asia: No sir just track. I am focused on one sport.

MSMileSplit: When is your next meet?

Asia: At Clinton. I will run the 100 and 300 hurdles and do the High Jump and Triple Jump?

MSMileSplit: How about you goals for this season in your main events?

Asia: I hope to hit somewhere in the 40 feet range for the Triple Jump. High Jump I would like to go 5'8".  In the 100 hurdles I would like to run in the low 14s and in the 300 hurdles I would like to hit 44.

MSMileSplit: Not going to go for the overall record of 42 in the 300 hurldles?

Asia: No sir not this season.

MSMilesplit: How about grades and future plans for college?

Asia: I am an A/B student right now. As for colleges no specific choices I will wait and see what comes with that. I hope to major in Criminology and maybe get a job with something like the FBI. In college I might like to compete in the heptathlon which I do compete in during summer track.

MSMileSplit: Thank you very much and good luck on your season.
