2A Girls 100m

In lane four was Hailee Janzen a senior from Alvord. She came into today with the fastest qualifying time of 12.12. In lane nine was Avery Koonce, a senior from Thrall was last year's silver medal winner and a 2022 qualifier. All competitors came in with a time of 0.6 seconds of each other.

Gun was up and they were ready to go, but unfortunately there was a false start and Chloe Becker a freshman from Miles was disqualified.

Down for a second time, it was a clean start off the line. Keundra Wilson, a junior from Marlin and Kaylee Hunt a junior from Hico were neck and neck, but Wilson crossed the line first with a great lean and a time of 12.24, also a season's best for her. Hunt finished in second place with a time of 12.32 and following close behind was Jazmyn Howard a sophomore from Refugio captured the bronze with a time of 12.34.

2A Girls 400m

In lane three was the silver medalist from the 2023 state meet, Sydney Wyrwich a senior from Stockdale. In lane five was Riley Haug a junior from Refugio who came in today with the fastest time from regionals with a 57.91 and in lane 6 was the defending gold medalist Graci Brown, a junior from Nocona.

There was a clean start to this impressive race with Isabella Jaime a junior from Farwell making up the stagger early and had the lead on the back stretch, then making their way home the center of the track was on fire with Brown, Jaime, Haug and Emily Pharris a senior from Shelbyville kept it close.The former state champ Brown faded in the last few meters of the race to finish off the medal stand.

Haug finished in first place with a time of 58.63 followed by Pharris with a time of 59.09 and Germayia Robinson a senior from Chilton snuck in to steal the bronze with a time of 59.18.

2A girls 200m

In lane two was the defending silver medalist Akenzi Weaver a senior from Era and in lane six was Savanna Camacho a senior from Haskell with the fastest time from regionals with a time of 24.64.

It was a clean start with a lot of action around the turn, but it was Camacho in lane six that made her move then, never looked back and finished with a commanding win with a time of 24.58 and a season's best for her.

Whitnee Teagle a senior from Broaddus finished in second place with a time of 25.34 and Hailee Janzen a senior from Alvord received the bronze with a time of 25.41.
